Nirmidas Biotech, Inc. develops, manufactures, and markets breakthrough biological testing, assay and imaging technologies, based on a novel red to near infrared fluorescence (700-1700 nm) detection and imaging platform. We aim to develop personal and portable diagnostics systems for early disease diagnosis and prognosis monitoring, as well as for population-based screening. We also aim to develop an in vivo imaging systems for research, diagnosis, and therapeutics. Research Associate

Nirmidas seeks a Research Associate to contribute to our near infrared fluorescence (NIR) dye development and in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) assay development. As a research associate, you will be directly involved in dye processing, biological assay work, production and quality control. You will participate in the design of experiments, qualify reagents, conduct quality control protocols, carry biological assays following established protocols, maintain instruments, draft protocols and standard operating procedures. Qualified applicants must have the desire and flexibility to work in a fast-paced startup environment. Candidates will be expected to participate and assist in the development of platforms and programs in support of current and future products. The candidate is expected to be detail oriented, possess strong trouble-shooting skills and is a team player.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports development of novel in-vitro diagnostic assay
  • Assist in the design, development and synthesis of NIR dyes and biomaterials
  • Qualifies and aliquots reagents and samples
  • Creates samples and reagent database; maintains traceability of reagents and samples
  • Performs experimental work as part of a fast-paced assay development team
  • Collects, analyzes and reports experimental results
  • Performs processes with established protocols, designs and executes daily experimental plans
  • Maintains a well-organized laboratory notebook

Experience or Educational Requirements:

  • Pursuing bachelor or master degree in chemistry, bioengineering or in related scientific field
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in nanoparticles synthesis, characterization and formulation
  • Demonstrated experience in small molecule synthesis and characterization for optical imaging
  • Hands on experience with basic biological lab techniques is required
  • Familiarity and experience with bio-conjugation techniques to nanoparticles and small molecules
  • Understanding and familiarity with various forms of immunoassay is a plus (e.g., ELISA)
  • Experience in a biotech startup setting is beneficial
  • Industrial experience in clinical IVD product development is highly beneficial
  • Must have strong team work ethics and interpersonal skills

Associate Researcher in Quality & Product Development (Intern)

Nirmidas seeks an Associate Researcher to contribute to Nirmidas Quality Management System development. This development forms the quality control foundation for in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) assay product development and near infrared fluorescence (NIR) dye development. Qualified applicants must have the desire and flexibility to work in a fast-paced startup environment. The ideal candidate is a flexible team player, who’s willing to learn, and values detail and efficient, clear communication. He or she applies hands-on experience from lab work in chemistry and biology to generate quality policies in a clear and effective manner.
